President

A Yonkers native and eighteen-year veteran of the Yonkers Police Department. Lt. Walker became a Yonkers Guardian in 2011. Three short years later in 2014 Lt. Walker would become President of the Yonkers Guardians .

He is currently the 3rd African American Lieutenant in the 150-year history of the department. As President of the Yonkers Guardians Association, he has worked tirelessly on increasing the number of African American Police Officers in the Yonkers Police Department, ensuring equal opportunities for African American Officers within the Department, and building strong relationships by partnering with and supporting local organizations within the City of Yonkers.

Lt. Walker has also served on the City of Yonkers Police Reform Committee where he presented ideas on changes that would be most impactful in his community. He did so by sharing his experiences as a young African American man growing up in one of the City’s housing projects in the 80’s and 90’s, what he observed between the Police and community, as well as his personal experience as a Police Officer now serving those same communities.

Charles continues to maintain strong community ties and seeks to grow collaborative partnerships that serve the community in any need that it may have.
